FROWN / GLABELLAR LINES:

The lines between the eyebrows, known as glabellar lines (GL), initially appear with negative facial expressions, such as frowning, but as individuals age, these lines persist and create an impression of a permanent negative emotional state. For instance, they may miscommunicate anger, annoyance, anxiety, disapproval, or sadness, causing distress and affecting social interactions.

If your glabellar wrinkles are dynamic (appear only when you make expressions), botox can completely eliminate them for the period of its activity. If you still see these lines when the face is at rest (static wrinkles), managing the glabellar complex depressors with botulinum toxin makes the lines less prominent. Additionally, as the region lifts a little, the eye area looks more open.

Botulinum toxin injected into the orbicularis oculi muscles will limit the muscle contractions, ultimately softening the appearance of crow’s feet.

Bunny lines are wrinkles across the nose’s bridge due to the nasalis muscle’s contraction.

Botulinum toxin relaxes the nasalis muscle on the sides of your nose, reducing the appearance of the wrinkles that form when you scrunch your nose, giving you a smoother, more youthful look

Gummy Smile

GUMMY SMILE:

A “gummy smile” refers to a smile with overexposure of the upper teeth and gums.

Botulinum toxin can relax the muscles in the upper lip and limit the rise of the upper lip when smiling, so the gums remain covered, producing a more aesthetic smile.

Lip Flip

LIP FLIP:

An effective treatment to define your upper lip. The lip flip involves injecting Botulinum toxin above the upper lip.

The primary effect of the lip flip is to relax the muscles (orbicularis oris) that connect to the upper lip, allowing the lip to relax and curl outward, thereby appearing larger and more defined in shape.

Jaw Slimming / Teeth Grinding (Bruxism)

JAW SLIMMING / TEETH GRINDING (BRUXISM):

Botulinum toxin can be injected into the masseter muscles not only to relieve the symptoms of bruxism but to slim and contour the face.

For jawline slimming, Botulinum toxin is injected into the masseter muscle along the jawline, reversing the masseter muscle’s hypertrophy, causing it to decrease in size. This relaxing of the jaw muscle leads to slimming the face, creating a more ideal face shape and facial contour.

Sleep bruxism is a condition of non-functional teeth grinding and clenching while sleeping. In addition to neck pains, headaches, periodontal disease, oral or facial pain, and possibly tooth loss, sleep bruxism can lead to teeth attrition, dental prostheses/implants failing, tooth sensitivity, pain in the teeth, as well as other problems.

Barcode / Lipstick Lines

BARCODE / LIPSTICK LINES:

These are the small superficial vertical lines above your upper lip and sometimes below your lower lip too. They are also referred to as “smokers lines”, but usually occur in non-smokers.

These lines are often combined with a decrease in lip volume, and patients complain their lipstick ‘bleeds’ out of the lips, and appear as a result of ageing, loss of collagen and UV damage.

Botulinum toxin injections are a popular option, as they relax the muscles that cause the lines to form, providing a more youthful appearance.

Dimpled Chin

DIMPLED CHIN:

The chin can develop an excessively dimpled, pebbly or orange peel (peau d’orange) appearance. This is due to the hyper-contraction of the chin muscles (called the mentalis muscle), which, over time, can result in superficial lines and wrinkles permanently etched into the skin. It will also give a witch-like look to the chin, creating a deep horizontal crease between the chin and the mouth.

Botulinum toxin injections are the quickest and simplest treatment to smooth this area and prevent further wrinkling by relaxing the chin muscles.

Neck Lines / Nefertiti Lift

NECK LINES / NEFERTITI LIFT:

The procedure’s name refers to the ancient Egyptian Queen Nefertiti, known for her elongated, thin neck. The Nefertiti lift targets the platysma band of muscles on the neck that run vertically from the bottom of the face to your collarbone.

Botulinum toxin injections relax this muscle, reducing the appearance of vertical bands and contributing to skin tightening.

Hyperhidrosis / Excessive Sweating

Hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating of the underarms) can be uncomfortable, embarrassing and may cause emotional, professional and social problems.

Botulinum toxin injections are approved in the EU and by the FDA to treat excessive sweating. In the skin, Botulinum toxin selectively turns off the sweat glands resulting in a normal appearance without wetness. The injections are performed with the smallest available needle and using an anesthetic cream, injections in the underarms are nearly pain-free.
